Major Medical

Short Term Medical Insurance (STM)

STM insurance pays benefits like a major medical insurance plan, but for a pre determined length of time, and typically pays benefits up to a $2,000,000 lifetime maximum per covered person. STM plans are the perfect alternative for individuals and families who need coverage right now, or need insurance coverage at a more affordable rate than offered on the exchanges. STM insurance is a sensible solution for the uninsured, unemployed, self-employed, foreign traveler or college student or anyone shopping for quality health insurance coverage. STM is affordable insurance with a choice of coverage periods up to 6 or 12 months at a time, depending on your state. STM insurance provides protection for unexpected medical expenses, accidents or illness, at any doctor or hospital. Deductibles normally range from $250 - $7,500 and doctor office and urgent care facility visits are not subject to the deductible.

High Deductible Health Insurance

High deductible health insurance provides coverage which includes the essential benefits required by the Affordable Care Act. “Off-Exchange” High Deductible Health insurance is designed for Americans with or without pre-existing conditions and may not benefit from federal subsidies under the Affordable Care Act. Dental, Vision and prescription coverage are normally included. Some plans are HSA compatible and insured’s benefit from an extensive network of hospitals and doctors.

Supplemental Benefits

Limited Benefit Accident, Sickness & Hospital Plans:

Limited Benefit plans offer guaranteed acceptance for those that do not have adequate health insurance. Plans offer fixed indemnity benefits that help pay costs for covered services; no deductibles or co-pays. These plans are an ideal supplement for those who have health insurance with high deductibles or high out-of-pocket expenses. Plan features typically include daily hospital indemnity benefits up to $1,000. Surgery, anesthesia, Diagnostic Lab & X-ray, Preventive Care, Emergency Room Sickness, and Ambulance benefits are also standard inclusions. Typically, insured’s can visit any doctor, although they receive additional savings when staying within a designated PPO.

Term Life and AD&D

Term Life provides protection for one’s family in the event of unexpected loss of life. A lump sum benefit will be paid to cover costs and provide beneficiaries financial comfort in the time of need. Our Term Life plans are guaranteed issue for members ages 18 through 64 with coverage up to age 70. AD&D coverage is 24/7 with $50,000, $100,000, $250,000 and $500,000 maximum Accidental Death and Dismemberment.

Critical Illness Insurance

Critical Illness insurance is a form of supplemental health insurance that provides lump sum cash benefits should you be diagnosed with a covered critical illness. Critical Illnesses are generally serious events, but survival rates have been steadily increasing. However, some critical illnesses become chronic, persisting over a longer period of time. Throughout America there is a growing concern over the additional costs associated with critical illnesses beyond those covered by health insurance, with survivors and their families being left to deal with the financial consequences. With advances in treating critical illnesses such as cancer, heart attack, and strokes, life expectancy has dramatically increased. However, the excitement of survival is soon replaced by the financial and physical demands on the family associated with survival and recovery.

Vision Insurance

Vision insurance is generally a supplemental insurance to other types of medical insurance policies and can offset the costs of routine checkups as well as help pay for vision correction wear prescribed by a physician. Getting an eye exam is not just about finding out whether one needs glasses. An eye exam can detect eye health problems like glaucoma or cataracts, but it can also help identify early signs of diseases that impact the entire body - high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.

Generic Prescription Insurance

Pharmacy costs continue to lead healthcare expenditures with double digit average annual increases. Americans are using more prescription drugs to prevent and manage health conditions than ever before, and prescription drugs are more expensive than ever before. The amount we spend on drugs increases nearly 20 percent every year and is one of the main reasons the cost of health care is increasing. When prescribed a drug by a physician one needs to ask for the less expensive generic equivalent. One reason brand-name drugs are so much more expensive is that drug companies spend more than twice as much on marketing and advertising these drugs as on research and development. A generic drug is a version of a brand drug. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), compared to the brand drug, a generic drug is chemically the same, works the same in the body, is just as safe and effective, meets the same standards set by the FDA, and often costs much less.

Ancillary Benefits

Patient Advocacy Services

Patient Advisors work with members to provide personalized assistance in navigating the confusing and expensive world of healthcare. Patient Advocacy services take the hassle out of health care while saving patients valuable time and money. Some of the services include: physician search, appointment scheduling, medical bill mediation, eldercare solutions, locating alternative treatments, insurance policy assistance, and surgery cost savings.

Tele-Medicine

Tele-medicine provides 24/7/365 access to U.S. board-certified doctors who can resolve many medical issues via phone or online video. Tele-medicine may be used when considering the ER or urgent care center for a nonemergency issue when at home or while traveling. Tele-medicine works well when finding oneself in a situation requiring a short term prescription refill and for many common health conditions such as cold and flu symptoms, bronchitis, respiratory infection, sinus issues, allergies, urinary tract infection, pink eye, and ear infections to name a few.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

HSAs are usually coupled with PPO plans with higher deductibles, designed especially for use with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Similar to a 401(k), an HSA is a special bank account that allows you to save money pre-tax to be used specifically for medical expenses in the future. Unlike a flexible spending account, the money in an HSA rolls over every year and can also gain interest. By pairing a qualifying high-deductible health plan with an HSA, one can save money on health care and earn a tax write-off. HSA eligible plans are attractive to those who like to pay for health care expenses with pre-tax dollars or are relatively young and healthy, typically don’t visit the doctor often, and prefer a cheaper monthly premium even if it means having a plan with a higher deductible.
